Your privacy and right to choose what happens with your information is important to us.  This privacy policy (the “Privacy Policy”) tells you how Carla Gradin collects, uses and protects your personal information.  By visiting https://carlagradin.thinkific.com/collections (the “Website”) and enrolling in a course (the “Course”) you accept and agree to the terms and conditions of this Privacy Policy.  This Privacy Policy applies to information we collect on the Website and through email and other electronic messages between you and us.  In particular, by visiting the Website, you consent to our collection and use of your personal information as described in this Privacy Policy. 

1. Hosting Platform for the Course

The Course is hosted under a third party platform developed by Thinkific Inc. (“Thinkific”).  They provide the online course creation platform that allows us to sell our product/services to you.  Your data is stored through Thinkific’s data storage, databases and the general Thinkific application. They store your data on a secure server behind a firewall.  By agreeing with this Privacy Policy, you also agree with Thinkific’s privacy policy as described here. 

2.  What information do we collect?

When you enroll as a student or subscriber (“Learner”), as part of the enrolling process, we collect the personal information you give us such as your name and email address. Like most places on the Internet, simply by visiting the Website, you automatically tell us certain information. This includes basic information such as your IP address, when you visited, the website from where you came prior to visiting us, the website where you go when you leave the Website, your computer’s operating system, location data, and the type of web browser that you are using. Our Website automatically records this basic information about you. 

Like many websites, we may use cookies or similar tracking technologies. This information can be used to track your session on our Website. Cookies may also be used to customize our Website content for you as an individual. If you are using one of the common Internet web browsers, you can set up your browser to either let you know when you receive a cookie or to deny cookie access to your computer.

•If you are inquiring about our courses, we may collect data that you provide us by posting it at our Website or by e-mail, including information by which you might be personally identified such as name, postal address, e-mail address, and telephone number, and/or any other contact or personally identifiable information; 

•If you have a registered account and are a user of the Courses provided by us, you may voluntarily provide, and we may collect and store, additional information related to the registered account, including but not limited to: your email address, name and contact information, such as postal address, any API key provided by you, information on the activities within the Thinkific platform and within you’re the Courses and any additional information you choose to provide and/or any other contact or personally identifiable information; 

You can always choose not to provide us with information. However, if you do withhold information, you may not be able to make use of some or all of our Website’s services and course content.   

Some transactions between you and our Website may involve payment by third party online payment services. In such transactions, we will collect information related to the transaction as part of the course of doing business with you, including your billing address, telephone number, and other information related to the transaction. 

We may also obtain information from third parties, for example, our business partners, third-party suppliers, and customers. 

3.  What do we do with your information?

We use personal information for the purposes stated or implied at the time of collection, including for the following purposes: 

•confirming your identity when you register as a learner for our Courses; 

•to manage your account and profile that you create when registering for Courses; •responding to your inquiries; 

•to meet the legal and regulatory requirements applicable to us; 

•fulfilling orders for our Courses; 

•marketing of our Courses to you; 

•to send you emails about our Website and related course(s), registration, course content, your course progress or other updates. We may also use your email to inform you about changes to the Course, survey you about your usage, or collect your opinion; and 

•if our Website or Course is acquired or merged with another company, your information may be transferred to the new owners so that we may continue to sell products to you. 

We may otherwise use your personal information where permissible by law, for example to respond to an emergency, or in the course of an investigation into illegal behavior.  We will never rent, lease, sell or barter your information to anyone or any organization without first obtaining your explicit consent to do so. 

4. How do you get my consent?

When you provide us with personal information to become a learner on our Website, make a purchase, or participate in a Course, you imply that you consent to our collecting it and using it for that specific reason only. We will also email you at regular intervals with any extra Course information or information we feel is useful to you, such as meet ups, additional learning resources and skills shares. 

If we ask for your personal information for a secondary reason, like marketing, we will either ask you directly for your expressed consent, or provide you with an opportunity to say no. We will never share your details with anyone else! 

5.  How do I withdraw my consent?

If after you opt-in, you change your mind, you may withdraw your consent for us to contact you, for the continued collection, use or disclosure of your information, at any time, by contacting us. 

6. Anti-Spam Policy

Where applicable, we will seek your express consent to contact you, including by way of commercial electronic messages. This consent is sought when you sign up for our products. You can unsubscribe at any time from receiving commercial electronic messages by following the instructions in the message.  Even if you have opted out of receiving marketing communications from us, please be aware that we may still contact you for other purposes. For example, we may contact you to provide communications you have consented to receive, regarding the Courses we provide to you, or if you contact us with an inquiry.

All purchases through the Website are processed through a secure third party payment processing gateway.  That third party may collect, use, and store your payment information when processing payment for our Courses. While the use of the third party payment processing gateway may be accessed or linked to through our Website, the terms and conditions and privacy policy of these third party providers shall govern the collection, use and storage of you information.  For these providers, we recommend that you read their privacy policies so you can understand the manner in which your personal information will be handled by these providers. 

Certain providers may be located in or have facilities that are located in a different jurisdiction than either you or us.
